Happy Valentine's day AND Xin Nian Kuai Le, 新年快乐 Happy Chinese New Year!!

Today is a BIG day in our house!! Not only are we celebrating Valentine's Day, but it is also Chinese New Year! This year is the year of the Tiger.

Deacon is doing so well being at home. Most of the time you would not even know this kid had even had surgery. :) They bounce back quick. The hardest part has been him not being able to eat regular food. Everything has to be pourable. We are getting creative. :)

Here are the kids tearing into their presents from Nana and Mimi.
Two happy campers.
Sweet Boy!
Valentine Breakfast. Heart Pancakes and homemade chocolate syrup. It's tradition! The kids love it.

Waterbalooza

Wednesday night was Waterbalooza at church. We loaded the kids up and went to the park for some water fun. T had the kids playing all kinds of crazy games that ensured they would get wet. :) CT and KG had a great time watching and getting wet themselves.

CT thought it would be funny to throw a water balloon at Daddy.

Daddy gets back at CT.
KG chillin in the pool. It was cold!
Who even knows what she is trying to do? :)

Fun with Fabio!

Last week was VBS week. On Friday we had our big wrap up complete with a guest appearance from "Fabio". :) The kids had a GREAT week at VBS, and were very excited that Safari Joe's was the ending celebration. They had all kinds of creatures that you could pet. KG did pet the very large snake. Her daddy was shuddering while she did it. :) There was also a jupiter jump, hot dogs, and last but not least PONY RIDES!!!!
KG taking her very first pony ride. :) She was not quite sure at first. I told her I would walk with her. We got about two steps and she said, "Go Mom, I've got this." :)
KG already a pro!

This is CT's best friend Stephen riding the pony.

CT taking his turn.

CT's also a pro at pony riding.

Trip to Mimi and Poppi's

January 16th. This past weekend we headed over to Mimi and Poppi's (the new name they have coined for my dad). Our purpose in going was to go and visit The Bird (my grandfather) who is battling lung cancer. We don't know how much time he has left. We were able to spend some time with him while we were there. We were also able to squeeze in some good eats and time with Mimi and Poppi.
Eating at one of my favorite restaurants, Market Place. The flaming queso is FABULOUS!
CT learning to play checkers with Poppi. CT didn't like it much that Poppi wouldn't just let him win. :)

Bibleman to the rescue!

CT as Bibleman.
KG and CT at PF Changs.

This past weekend we had to run to Mardel's to pick up some stuff for Graduation Sunday. CT remembered that this was the store with the Bibleman outfit. He had seen it about 2 months before and had talked about it on and off. I told him that if he wanted it, he could use the money that he had saved in his piggy bank. He had me get it down off the shelf for him and he studied it for awhile. Then he had me put it back because he couldn't decide if he wanted to spend his money on it. We did this about three or four time before he finally decided that he would buy it. They also had a pretty cool sword that went with it, that he was dying to have. I was impressed though, he had enough money to buy both, but he didn't want to spend ALL of his money. He just went with the cape and mask. Miss KG found a wand that makes noise and insisted on buying it. I told her that if she wanted it she had to use her own money for it. So I said, "Is that okay?" She replied without a second thought, "Oh, yeah!". I'm a little worried about her.

Since we were in T town we headed on over to PF Changs for dinner. Some friends of ours had given us a gift certificate, so we decided to use it. PF Changs doesn't disappoint. Of course CT wanted to wear his Bibleman outfit in, but Daddy wouldn't let him. He did wear it the next day to Chili's and Wal-Mart. People just smile at him.

Blueberry Muffins and Humble Pie

Breakfast of Champions! Gatorade and Blueberry Muffins.
KG riding her 4wheeler and listening to some tunes. She has her cd player hooked onto the handle. :)
CT practicing his mad soccer skills.
Whew! Snack time.

Not much has been going on around here. We got up this morning and made blueberry muffins. Now before you get this big idea that we are Betty Crocker around here, we normally pull something out of the freezer and into the toaster. :) Today was a new day! ha! Also the kids wanted to play outside, but we have knock you down winds around here. Not to mention our neighbors dogs that run around the neighborhood and terrorize little children. Well, just my children seem to be afraid of them. So we opted for pulling the car out of the garage and letting them play in there. They have played a little bit of golf, baseball, soccer, and the riding of many vehicles.

CT decided that since he lost his soccer game last night that he needed to practice. We played a team that was older than us and they killed us. CT had a hard time at first. Crying everytime they made a goal. He toughened up the second half and decided to make the best of it. This was a good lesson for him though. A couple of weeks ago on the way to a game he asked us, "Why am I so good at soccer, and others are not?" Oh boy!! Well son...... we needed a little piece of humble pie. I explained to him that he was good at soccer, but there were others that were better than him. He was not so convinced until last night. :) It was hard to swallow, but he managed and was better for it. :)

Tomorrow we will be back to frozen waffles and wee school. ;)

Motorcycle Mania

Vroom! Vroom!
Karla and KG on the motorcycle.
CT getting ready to ride.
"Wook ate me Mommy, Wook at me!"
CT and KG jumping. It was so hard to get her to say in the middle. Luckily no one fell off.

Yesterday the weather was so pretty that we could not stay inside any longer. Plus it was hotter in the house than it was outside, and who turns on the AC in February? Well, I did but it stunk so bad that I turned it off. :) ha! So we opened some windows. We went over to the neighbor's house to see how many dangerous toys we could play on. The kids were taking turns jumping on the trampoline, while Karla was giving rides on the motorcycle. KG LOVED the motorcycle. She kept saying, "Faster, Faster, Faster." CT had a good time on it too. Today is back to winter weather and rain. It was fun while it lasted.
